Show Highlights & Big Takeaways

1. Research

This research was conducted on children who scored poorly on the impulsiveness scale. Researchers divided the study into 4 groups; placebo, Mediterranean diet only, omega-3 supplements only, Mediterranean diet & omega-3 supplements combined.

2. Results

Results from the research showed that the group who took only omega-3 supplements scored the highest. The ratio of 2-2.5/1 EPA to DHA worked the best for inflammatory-based issues.

3. My Take

My hypothesis is that the Mediterranean diet followed in this study was not necessarily high in Omega 3 rich foods.  If it was, I think you would see that the group that followed the Mediterranean diet and took omega-3 supplements would have scored higher as well.
