TWT: How Not to “Over Fast” & Shut Down Your Thyroid & Progesterone

It’s amazing that it’s taken this long, but finally, we are starting to find a balance with “experts” in the space no longer subscribing to the notion that everyone should be fasting the majority of the day every day…

This is very important since from a clinical standpoint many of my colleagues and I have seen rapidly declining thyroid and sex hormones in those that “over fast…”

That’s why on today’s #CabralConcept 2013 I’d like to share with you how not to over-fast & shut down your thyroid and progesterone levels – Enjoy the show and let me know what you thought in the comments below!

Show Highlights & Big Takeaways

1. Fasting is Good

Many people hear me talking about the dangers of fasting too long (but that’s only because very few do!), but the majority of people should fast for 12 hours per day.

2. Timing is Everything

Most people can successfully fast without wrecking their sex hormones and thyroid between the hours of 5-8pm to 5-8am - the more hours before bed the better (to a point).

3. Testing

In the end, the only way to find out if you’re over-fasting is to run a hormone panel that includes stress hormones, sex hormones, and multiple thyroid levels.
