There are two styles of workouts that have gained in popularity over the past decade and those are METCON & HIIT workouts….

But which one is best?

1. METCON Workouts

METCON workouts stand for metabolic conditioning and they are fast and furious just like HIIT. However, METCON workouts often involve weights and last slightly longer with a slightly lower heart rate for sustained circuits.

2. HIIT Workouts

HIIT stands for high-intensity interval training and these workouts are typically done in small circuits that get the heart rate pumping at 90% or greater of your maximum.

3. Versatility

Most people who say they are doing HIIT training are actually doing METCON workouts because METCON workouts enable you to train for a little longer period of time where the heart rate is closer to 70 to 80% of your max rather than all-out like HIIT training is.
