2533: Should You Train or Cold Plunge While Fasted?

TT: Should You Train or Cold Plunge While Fasted?

There is no one size fits all approach to health and wellness…

It’s all about bio-individuality, and what works for some may not be best for others.

So, when we look at things like cold plunges or fasted HIIT workouts we need to understand what occurs in the body when adopting these modalities and consider the effects it will have on the individual…

I invite you to join me on today’s #CabralConcept 2533 where we take a closer look at what happens to the body and figure out if YOU should train or cold plunge while fasted – Enjoy the show and let me know what you thought!

Show Highlights & Big Takeaways:

1. Who it’s Good For

Cold plunge provides a shock to system and can be good for people who have a hard time getting cortisol going in the morning. It spikes norepinephrine and adrenaline and puts you in a state of stress which produces cortisol.

2. Who it’s Not Good For

Cold plunges or fasted HIIT workouts in the morning can be detrimental to anyone with low thyroid, adrenal-based issues, low cortisol due to burn out, and people who are chronically stressed.

3. Morning Routine

If you want to incorporate a gentler fitness routine into your morning wellness regimen consider sauna, yoga, or light cardio. These options can still get your body going, but will not spike your stress hormones to the same degree. If you are interested in incorporating cold plunge into your morning routine, you can work to override the stress response through PNS breath work.
