TT: What’s the Upper Limit on Daily Protein Consumption?

Protein is one of those topics that is often hotly debated due to it’s big pros and cons…

The problem is that like most areas of nutrition there is no one size fits all answer, which is why whenever you make an argument for the proper amount of protein consumption per day you are always going to be incorrect for many people…

The one exception to that is understanding that for overall health and longevity there is an upper limit that should be considered (at least in the long run)…

On today’s #CabralConcept 2274 I will present all sides of the argument and allow you to decide on what your upper limit on daily protein consumption should be – Enjoy the show and let me know what you thought!

Show Highlights & Big Takeaways

1. Starting Points

.8g per kg of body weight is the standard starting point for minimum protein consultation per day.

2. Longevity Macro Max

For longevity a maximum of 20% of your macros should be protein. The caveat to this may be that if you are on a hypocaloric diet or catabolic you may be able to eat more to balance catabolism and anabolism in your body.

3. Body Transformation

Whenever you’re trying to add muscle and have made that a priority up to 1g per pound of body weight may be your sweet spot - just remember that body transformation goals do not equal health goals much of the time.
