1. Diet & Exercise

If the scale won’t budge the first thing you need to look at is diet and exercise. It is important to look at the number of calories going in and coming out but it is also important to note that over dieting can wreak havoc on your metabolism and cause further damage.

2. Look at Your Hormones

Once you have confirmed that diet and exercise alone are not moving you forward you need to take a deeper look at your hormones. Thyroid, Cortisol, Glucose, Estrogen, and many other hormones all play a pivotal role in your ability to lose or gain weight.

3. Begin to Make Changes

It is important to understand that we can’t look at things with tunnel vision. Everything works in harmony together and we must understand how the levels of one hormone can affect the levels of another. Working with an Integrative Health Practitioner or Naturopathic Doctor will allow you to fully understand how all of your hormone levels interact and what you can do to change them.
