Show Highlights & Big Takeaways

Your Health History Leaves Clues:

Your past can provide valuable clues about what’s happening with your health today. Previous infections, medications, injuries, periods of stress, diet changes, allergies, environmental exposures, and other life events can help identify what may have preceded your symptoms.

New Flu Strain:

A new H3N2 flu strain with mutations that may help it evade immunity from previous infections is expected to be a major strain this flu season. As we go into cold and flu season it is important to be proactive about immune health, including maintaining adequate vitamin D, vitamin C, zinc, omega-3s, and overall nutritional support.

Yellow 5 Food Dye:

A surprising study from Stanford found that concentrated tartrazine, also known as Yellow 5, temporarily made the skin of mice translucent when applied topically, allowing researchers to see blood vessels and internal structures. The effect reversed after the dye was rinsed away. The study raises interesting questions about how certain food dyes interact with our bodies.
