Show Highlights & Big Takeaways

1. Arch Support

Arch support is crucial because it helps maintain proper alignment of the foot, reducing strain on the muscles, ligaments, and joints. This support can prevent discomfort, injuries, and long-term issues by ensuring even weight distribution and stabilizing the foot during movement.

2. Antibiotics & Asthma

New research suggests that early exposure to antibiotics may increase the long-term risk of developing asthma. The study identified a molecule produced by gut bacteria, called IPA, which could potentially be used to help prevent asthma in children.

3. Food Allergies

A study from the University of Michigan has found that inulin, a plant fiber commonly used in supplements and food products, could be a promising new treatment for food allergies. The research showed that an inulin  and oral immunotherapy successfully prevented severe allergic reactions in mice by targeting gut bacteria and protecting against common allergens like peanuts and egg whites.
