1. What is a Foot Detox Bath

A foot detox bath involves soaking your feet in a warm water solution mixed with various ingredients, such as salt, essential oils, or certain types of clay, and an ionizer. Proponents claim that this process can help draw out toxins from the body through the feet.

2. What Does The Research Show

Research has not found any evidence to show that detox foot baths release toxins from the body. One study showed no significant release of toxins into water or changes in urine and hair samples after footbath sessions.

3. What Are the Benefits of the Detox Foot Bath

While I don’t believe a detox foot bath draws toxins out of the body, I believe it has other benefits. A foot bath can induce sweating, which may help with detoxification, could improve negative ions in the body, and helps relax the central nervous system.
