Thank you for joining us for our 2nd Cabral HouseCall of the weekend!
I’m looking forward to sharing with you some of our community’s questions that have come in over the past few weeks…
Let’s get started!
Whit: Hello! Really appreciate you taking the time to answer these questions. My question is regarding dosage for the equilife advanced collagen support. I know the directions are 1 scoop a day, but would there be any added benefit to doing more, say 2 or 3 scoops a day? Also I hear about certain amino acids that are important for assimilating collagen into the body- do you think it would be advisable to take amino acids with it ? (I’m currently loving Ben Greenfield’s Kion aminos) Thanks a bunch! You are the best!
Linsey: Dr. Cabral, I’m a big admirer of yours and can’t tell you how much I appreciate all the knowledge you share. I have a question about how to best repair DNA damage that’s been done from 2 past head CT’s and a dental CT. I already try to live a low toxin lifestyle when it comes to food and products but I feel like I should be doing more to irradiate damage possibly done by these CT scans. I’m very concerned with the cancer risks that could be associated for these scans. Thanks so much for your input!
Danielle: Dear Dr. Cabral, I have a family member who was diagnosed with stage 3 uterine cancer that reached the lymph nodes. I am attempting to search for an IHP that has experience working with cancer patients on the integrativehealthpractitioner.org website but that level on information is hard to find. Do you have any recommendations of an IHP/naturopathic/functional medicine physician with experience working with cancer patients? If you don’t know of anyone specific, can you recommend how to go about the search? Would like to find someone who can work alongside her oncologist and primary doctor. Any kind of assistance would be helpful. Thanks!
Sal: Can I please get some tips on improving my hormones. I have had a dutch test and my estrogen progesterone and testosterone were at perimenopausal values. I am in my late 20s. I train regularly and have a fairly good diet. Thank you.
Grace: Hello, my name is Grace. I have been going through a lot of health problems the past year. I started getting muscle weakness and fatigue last year. I had a fever, but was not sick. The weakness was getting worse. My periods were also irregular. In May of this year, I went through a really stressful period of working 40 hours a week and doing a Masters program. Then, I had an edible, and my periods stopped altogether for a couple months. During that time, my hands started hurting, body stiff, and it felt like I was getting arthritis. I started talking with a functional medicine practitioner, and we did a hair mineral analysis and a hormone test. My progesterone was low, and my mineral levels were off and my Lyme test came back positive. I was won Is there anything else I should do?
Bri: Hello, my husband has Geographic tongue, he was diagnosed in his early teen years. It annoys him regularity and is impacted by spicy or sour foods. Is there anything that can be done to help?
