But why is that?

This is a question I get asked all the time and you might be surprised that there is some science behind why some are more prone to bites than others.

1. Myths

Do you have sweet blood? No one is certain where that came from (or what it actually means) but there is some research that shows mosquitoes are drawn more towards O and AB blood types.

2. Heat

Mosquitoes can see your heat signature from 25-50 feet away. They are drawn to heat assuming it is a food source. If you are prone to run hotter than most this could make you more susceptible.

3. Prevention

When heading outdoors make sure to use a natural bug repellent and stay away from strong smells and heavy perspiration.
