HouseCall:
Welcome back to our weekend Cabral HouseCall shows!
This is where we answer our community’s wellness, weight loss, and anti-aging questions to help people get back on track!
Check out today’s questions:
Sussanna: Hi Dr. Cabral, I’m very interested in getting your take on this question! I’m a menopausal woman in my early 50’s suffering from lack of sleep, hot flashes and mood disruptions. Is taking bio-est 80/20 plus progesterone cream (prescribed by one of the online practitioners) – safe for women with a uterus, or is switching to an estrogen only cream or patch with a progesterone pill the safest option? I’ve been watching many videos and trying to research as much as I can, yet the debate on which is ‘correct’ is quite overwhelming. My concern is my background includes my mother who passed away from an aggressive form of uterine cancer. The online practitioner assured me that studies show this combo of compounded estrogen and progesterone can decrease uterine cancer. Thoughts?! Thank you!
Kathleen: Hi Dr. Cabral, Have you any recommendations on minimally-invasive skin tightening procedures (after natural weight loss for skin that does not want to retract), such as Airsculpt with Renuvion/Plasma J? It’s very expensive, but intriguing, if it works. Mostly concerned about how well it works and the long term effects of Renuvion/Plasma J and dangers it warnings associated. Thank you!
Tricia: Hi Dr. Cabral – Hope you are well! I have a bit of an embarrassing topic that I need your help with. I’m 56-year-old female & the last few months I would find myself in a deep sleep dreaming and then jump up as I’m starting to wet the bed. Lately it has gotten more frequent since I’ve been taking progesterone and melatonin supplements. I’m sleeping great but I can’t have this issue keep happening. I am about 50lbs overweight trying to heal my insulin resistance. I always get up at least twice to use the bathroom in general. I figure the doctor would give me pills so I haven’t gone. I realize something in my brain is not switching on to tell me to wake up. Do you have any suggestions or guidance? I do stop drinking liquid 2 hours prior to sleep. Thank you!
Al: Dr Cabral, I have a question about white nail spots. They tend to appear only whenever I start taking zinc supplements. I’ve tried picolinate or glycinate (15mg). Even when I take extra zinc short term, for about two weeks 30mg while having viral infection, a spot or two appear. Isn’t it suppose to be the opposite? The only zinc that doesn’t cause it are those “food-based” supplements. I also take D, Ca (from algae),and now food based multi from fermented quinoa. Even without the multi, according to cronometr I hit everything over 150% except Ca & D. I have smoothie with goat whey for breakfast, vegetarian lunch with lot of beans, paleo style dinner with rice, plus fruits & creatine pre-workout. I am a 44 years old male, about 10 percent bodyfat, athletic looking vata body type
Jennifer: Can you give me any insight on cycle problems that I have been having for almost 2 years now. They don’t align with the typical timeline of PMS symptoms that everyone talks about. I have minor physical symptoms that I can handle but most importantly I have bad emotional disregulation from about days 3-8 to 12 depending on the month. I’m extremely, anxious, depressed, and get mad at everyone around me. I know this happens but when I’m in it there’s nothing I can do to bring myself out until the days pass. It’s really starting to take a tole on my relationships, especially my marriage. I plan to do stress mood and metabolism test but should I still do it on 19-21 days since I’m pretty stable then? Also, I’m currently doing CBO and will do the finisher, should I wait til after I finish?
Thank you for tuning into today’s Cabral HouseCall and be sure to check back tomorrow where we answer more of our community’s questions!
