1. What is EBT
Electron Beam Therapy (also known as superficial radiation therapy or image-guided brachytherapy) uses low-energy electrons to destroy cancerous skin cells without cutting the skin. This approach eliminates the need for stitches, reduces scarring, and has virtually no downtime.

2. Radiation Exposure
The radiation dose used in EBT is around 5–10 microsieverts—similar to a day’s worth of natural background radiation or sunlight exposure. It doesn’t penetrate deeply, making it suitable for superficial skin lesions.

3. EBT Benefits
EBT is particularly beneficial for sensitive or hard-to-reach areas like the face, neck folds, or elbows, where scarring or surgery may be problematic. While not everyone is a candidate, those with early-stage lesions and cosmetic concerns may want to ask a dermatologist or radiation oncologist about this option.
