Show Highlights & Big Takeaways:

1. Walking & Cancer
A study from the NIH and Oxford tracked 85,000 people for almost six years and found that daily steps really do matter. People who walked around 7,000 steps a day lowered their risk of 13 different types of cancer (like colon, breast, and kidney) by about 11%. Hitting 9,000+ steps lowered it even more, and the most active walkers saw a 26% drop in risk.

2. DEXA Scan & Radiation Risk
DEXA scans, which measure bone density and body fat, use very tiny amounts of radiation—just 1–5 microsieverts. For perspective, that’s way less than a chest X-ray (~100 microsieverts). Getting a scan every few years is considered very low risk, especially compared to the valuable health insights it provides.

3. Hair Regrowth Breakthrough
Researchers at UCLA are testing a new topical treatment called PP405 that can wake up “sleeping” hair follicles without affecting the rest of the body. In an early study with 78 adults, people using PP405 saw about a 20% boost in new hair growth in just 8 weeks, while the placebo group saw none.
