While I recognize the importance of pacing oneself in certain aspects, I often find that people interpret this advice as having ample time to achieve their goals, which can lead to procrastination.

So today I want to go over how I look at goal setting in hopes that it will inspire you to achieve all you set out to this year.

1. Starting Point

Evaluate what you want now. While setting long-term goals spanning several years is commendable, predicting your desires a decade from now can be challenging. Instead, concentrate on your immediate wants and needs as a starting point, recognizing the importance of focusing on the present.

2. Become A Different Person

As you embark on your journey toward a goal, you’ll undergo a process of learning, growth, and transformation. After a year of dedication and overcoming challenges, you may find that your aspirations and objectives evolve, shaping a new version of yourself and influencing the direction of your future goals.

3. Small Goals

I recommend planning short-term goals (12-18 months) for better tracking, growth, and achievement. Start with a maximum of 1-3 goals for the year. Oftentimes, you will find that tracking one significant goal will have a domino effect on your other goals.
