HouseCall: Polycystic Kidney Disease, Missing Period, Compulsive Eating, Change Body Type, Coconut Oil Conundrum
Thank you for joining us for our 2nd Cabral HouseCall of the weekend!
I’m looking forward to sharing with you some of our community’s questions that have come in over the past few weeks…
Let’s get started!
Bridget: Could you please speak about polycystic kidney disease? Is it possible to help these people remove the cysts naturally? When you speak about kidney disease does polycystic kidney disease fall under that same umbrella? For example, people with this disease need to be extremely careful with detoxing/cleanses? Could you please explain why that is?
Mariela: Hi Dr Cabral. I am 21 years old and have a healthy weight because I exercise regularly (a combination of HIT, Yoga, Light cardio, etc). I was on the contraceptive pill for 5 years and got off it cold turkey last November (2019). It reached May and I still didn’t get my period back. I did the organic acid test, HTMA, and thyroid and adrenal hormone test. Afterwards I did the 21 DCD, followed by the CBO protocol. I’ve also incorporated many vitamins and minerals as advised by one of your health coaches. B complex, balanced zinc, full spectrum magnesium, adrenal soothe, DNS, etc. I eat 9 cups of organic vegetables & fruits per day, a good amount of carbs from my morning oats and I don’t even have cheat meals anymore. I do everything perfectly. My period hasn’t come back yet and I don’t know what else to do. Your health coach told me I had very low progesterone and low estrogen as well. My cortisol levels were ok. Can you please help me get my period back? I will be going now the CBO finisher but I’m still sensitive to seeds so I can’t implement seed cycling yet. I’m very worried that It’s been so many months without my period. Thank you so much.
Krissy: Hey Dr Cabral, firstly want to say thank you for sharing your incredible wealth of knowledge with the world and for allowing me to think outside my “naturopathy box”.I have multiple autoimmune diseases, hormone imbalances and several other health issues. I’m working with a friend who is an IHP level 2, and have done a 21-day detox, am currently doing parasite protocol and intestinal cleanse, and will be starting CBO protocol in Sept. The issue I’m writing to you about, however, is my binge eating disorder and addiction to food. I have the knowledge of how and what to eat. The problem is the I still have the compulsion to eat sugary foods, carbs and takeaway. I get through 2 weeks of eating really well and then I lose control.I’ve already listened to your podcasts on breaking habits, I’ve identified my triggers and avoid them when I can, and also replace the actions with healthier ones. But sometimes there is no trigger. I can be eating really well, no stress, feeling great and all of a sudden I’ll get the compulsion to eat something I shouldn’t. I use all my training to remain on track with my eating, such as mindfulness, meditation, distraction but can’t get past this. It’s the biggest blockage to my getting well. Any ideas? Help! Thanks in advance.
Anonymous: Hi dr Cabral :)Here is my question: would love to know what our thoughts. Can you change your body type? I assume no, however I had eating disorders/OCD for many years since I was 13 so my body never fully developed. I am 18 now, and slowly getting to a healthy body weight. When trying to figure out my body type, many of the questions I don’t know if I answer truthfully for me at the moment, or me back when I was 12-13? Such as, I have a small frame at the moment, small wrists, weak digestion, often anxious, can get irritable and can’t miss a meal. However this never used to be the case from what I can remember: was very easily going, had strong legs, wider hips than my friends, easily miss a meal so wouldn’t effect me at all.So… would that mean my body type has changed..? As I would like to determine what lifestyle and foods would be best for me. Thank you! Love love your work. (Unfortunately I cant afford any labs/products especially with $Aud conversion rate and shipping but I am saving up!)Anonymous
Dianne: Hi Stephen,Thanks for your informative podcast sessions. I love them. You have helped a friend of mine after I asked your advice. She has ordered one of your labs. Please stay safe over there. My question is about coconut oil. A friend has a heart condition together with lupus and he is recovering from hepatitis which he obtained through a blood transfusion. His cardiologist has forbidden him from having any coconut product. I have always had coconut oil, cream, milk, flour, sugar and was taught it was a healthy alternative. His Dr has said that coconut products makes your cholesterol sticky therefore causing a chance of blocking. Can you enlighten me please as to whether coconut products are good for you. Regards and thank you, Dianne
