HouseCall:
Thank you for joining us for our 2nd Cabral HouseCall of the weekend!
I’m looking forward to sharing with you some of our community’s questions that have come in over the past few weeks…
Let’s get started!
Nikki: Hi! Can you please help me in deciding if I should use the pork liver DAO enzyme or the pea version? I need to run the Big5 but waiting on funds. I have been dealing with histamine intolerance(random hives when lifting heavy objects or tight things on my skin, random itchy hands and feet) and have recently stopped taking metformin after 10 years. I learned through you that it can negatively impact histamine. I was taking it for PCOS but switched to Berberine and Inestitol. Also changing my diet. Doing more exercise. All that to say I would like to try and fix the histamine issues as much as I can until I can run these labs. Side note I believe it is gut related as I also deal with gastritis and recently stopped taking Protonics. No more medications other than Zyrtec for the itching!
Susanne: Some studies suggest that omega 3 supplements have negative effects. A recent longitudinal analysis using data from the Alzheimer’s Disease Neuroimaging Initiative was published in eBioMedicine. It associated omega-3 supplementation with accelerated cognitive decline in older adults. There are also some studies noting increased risk of AFib and findings that the supplements don’t have the cardiovascular protective benefits once thought. Can you please provide some insight of this? I always thought.the omega 3 supplements were beneficial. Now concerned about potential harm. Thank you for all you do!
Marlyse: I would like to know your thoughts on CO2 inhalation therapy. Thank you.
Tricia: Good morning, Dr Cabral – hope you and your family are well. I have a quick question regarding melatonin. I know there are amazing benefits to taking melatonin every evening. I heard a study was recently done by the American Heart Association and they said taking melatonin every evening created a 90% risk of heart failure in just one year. I wanted to get your opinion on this and should someone that is at high risk of heart disease not take melatonin? Thank you in advance.
Layla: Hi Dr Cabral, I have learned so much from your podcast and love the equilife supplements. I know that omegas should be taken with a fat. I have been wondering about the order. Should I eat the food containing fat first and then take the supplement, at the same time, or does it not matter? Thank you!
Thank you for tuning into this weekend’s Cabral HouseCalls and be sure to check back tomorrow for our Mindset & Motivation Monday show to get your week started off right!
