3184: FDA Admits to These “Unavoidable” Heavy Metals Found in Foods

TT: FDA Admits to These “Unavoidable” Heavy Metals Found in Foods

It can feel overwhelming when we start to realize just how much our food supply has been polluted.

I know many of you do your best to eat clean and provide the most nutritious foods for your family, but sometimes certain things are unavoidable.

Today, I want to share this information, not to alarm you, but to educate you on what to watch for and avoid when possible.

Join me on today’s Cabral Concept 3184 as we dive into what the FDA admits are “unavoidable” heavy metals in our foods. Enjoy the show, and I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Show Highlights & Big Takeaways:

1. What Does the Research Show

Studies reveal that heavy metals such as arsenic, cadmium, lead, and mercury are present in various foods. Among the vegetable samples tested, 35% contained arsenic, 10% had lead, 6% showed mercury, and 94% had cadmium.

2. Where Are Heavy Metals Most Prevalent

Arsenic was detected in seafood like baked cod, salmon, and shrimp, as well as in rice and rice-based cereals. Cadmium was found in spinach, sunflower seeds, and lettuce, while lead was detected in baby foods like sweet potatoes and teething biscuits. Mercury appeared mostly in seafood, such as canned tuna and baked cod.

3. What Can We Do

Our goal should be to limit foods known to be high in heavy metals. Aim for organic, high-quality rice, organic fruits and vegetables, and wild-caught fish. To reduce heavy metal exposure, consider doing a heavy metal detox and incorporating quarterly detoxes to help remove these toxins from the body.
