1. Melatonin

Participants in a study taking melatonin experienced a notable reduction in both the frequency and duration of migraine episodes. Taking 3 mg of melatonin one hour before bedtime significantly reduced overall pain and the frequency of migraine headaches.

2. Fish Oil

In a 12-week study involving 70 participants with episodic migraines, those taking daily fish oil supplements experienced a significant decrease in the number of migraine days, headache severity, and medication use, with their migraine frequency reduced by more than half compared to those taking a placebo.

3. Selenium

Oxidative stress is known to contribute to migraines, and selenium’s antioxidant properties may help. In a 12-week study, individuals with migraines who took a daily selenium supplement had fewer and less severe migraine episodes compared to those who received a placebo.
