Show Highlights & Big Takeaways:

1. PFAS & Fast Food

Research shows that PFAS are prevalent in many wrappers and containers used in fast food chains and grocery stores. Due to the growing demand for reducing toxic exposure, numerous fast food chains and grocery stores have pledged to reduce PFAS in their products; however, it is important to understand that many still exist. PFAS have been associated with liver damage, compromised immune function, developmental toxicity, and cancer.

2. Bedtime Cortisol

A typical cortisol pattern consists of higher levels in the morning upon waking, followed by a gradual decrease throughout the day, and lower levels in the evening before bedtime. People with higher levels in the evening may experience symptoms such as a racing mind, difficulty falling asleep, and low energy. Cortisol testing is recommended in the evening to determine whether levels fall within the optimal range.

3. Running & Knees

A common question many people have about running is whether it harms your knees as you get older. New research shows that both current and former runners experienced less knee pain and fewer symptoms of arthritis than non-runners.
