Many people, however, just add hot water to their tea without understanding that the wrong temperature can destroy some of the health properties they are seeking in the first place…

Depending on what type of tea you prefer it is important to note the proper temperature and steeping time so you can maximize all that it has to offer (as well as the taste)…

  • Herb Mate Tea: 160 degrees
  • Green Tea: 175-180 degrees

2. Steeping Time

  • Black Tea: 3-5 minutes

3. Raw Honey

When adding raw honey to your tea make sure that the water is not boiling (not above 175 degrees). If you do want to add it to a tea that uses boiling water make sure to cool the water first.
