HouseCall: Tolerating Thyroid Supplements, APOe4 & Alzheimer’s Risk, Skin Issues with Foot, Kidney Problems, Book For Children
Thank you for joining us for our 2nd Cabral HouseCall of the weekend!
I’m looking forward to sharing with you some of our community’s questions that have come in over the past few weeks…
Let’s get started!
Richard: Hello Dr. Cabral, About 9 months ago I started working with your wonderful team at Equilife to rebalance my body & get healthy again. I took the big 5 labs and worked with an Equilife health coach. She came up with a plan which I followed diligently. It consisted of the 7-day detox, CBO, CBO finisher, mold, heavy metal detox and an intestinal cleanse at 3 separate times during the plan. At the end of all that I even did the 21-day detox to help clean out any toxins that the protocols didn’t catch. Unfortunately, I am still in a hypothyroid state due to Hashimotos. I understand that some people will need medication or some kind of glandular support even after rebalancing the body due to the destruction of the thyroid tissue. The problem is that I can’t seem to tolerate thyroid medications or even natural glandular products. When I take these I get symptoms such as severe insomnia, heart palpitations, anxiety etc. even at the smallest of doses, Just like symptoms of being overmedicated. I’ve done lots of research over the years and one of the thyroid books that I have says that low cortisol can prevent the thyroid hormones from entering the cell. According to my SMM test, my cortisol results were fine. A few years ago I was on cortisol medication which enabled me to tolerate the medication but it didn’t help my symptoms. The same thing happened while taking adrenal cortex. My question is if you ever had a patient that couldn’t tolerate medications/glandulars & if so how would you remedy this? FYI I have been in a hypothyroid state for 30 years now. I live a very healthy lifestyle with an antioxidant rich diet, exercise & manage stress. I am planning on retaking the big 5 labs again to see if the protocols worked & if there is anything that is preventing me from getting well. I had to retype this question & shorten it once the text field prevented me from typing any more words, apparently I still have to submit 2 questions. I apologize for the length of this question as I tried to make it as short as possible without leaving out important details. I’ve spent all my time, energy & finances in trying to get well & I’m not sure where to go from here. I am very grateful for you & your team and thank you so much for your help!
Carrie: I understand my APOe4 is 2/4. What does that mean for me? I was told I have a 50% chance of acquiring Alzheimer’s. Thank you.
Sandra: My almost 6yr old son has had a cut under his big toe (where toe meets foot) and sometimes it looks irritated and other times it dries out – the cut runs from end to end of his toe..at one point it was on both big toes and now only one. I have tried fully drying it out with a hair dryer during the winter, also applying teat tree oil/ointment.. but this one cut is always there. Do you have any advice on what it can be and how to heal it?
Tonya: Hi there! I am pretty confident that you and your team can help my aunt get on the right track with her health but I thought I’d write in so my cousins can here it for themselves… now I am going to be very vague because I don’t know many details but I do know that’s ok as far as you just pointing her in the right direction… my aunt has kidney issues. She currently does dialysis 3 times a week and has been for quite some time. One time she told me she is only allowed to drink 8oz of water a day. And my dad has told me she has not urinated in years. I would love so much for her to not have to spend the rest of her life like this. Where can we start? Thank you so much for all your knowledge and care. (I plan to join IHP and have just started reading your book! )
Tara: Hi there! I love your podcast and have gotten so much out of it. Thank you for all you do. I’m currently reading your book, The Rain Barrel Effect, for the second time. It’s SUCH an informative read, stuff I wish I learned earlier in life. I homeschool my three young boys and would LOVE to utilize your book in our homeschool program. It may be a bit advanced for them, but I can adjust it to their level. I was wondering if you ever thought of writing a book geared more towards our younger generation? Or do you have an recommendations of books I can incorporate into our day. Thank you so much! Tara
