Meat or Plants-does it really matter for muscle growth?

On today’s show, I’ll break down the latest research comparing plant and animal proteins—including what the data says about protein type, timing, and muscle growth. I’ll also share my clinical insights from decades of working with body transformation and wellness clients.

Show Highlights & Big Takeaways:

1. Protein Type

The study found no significant difference in muscle protein synthesis between vegan and omnivorous diets—as long as total protein intake was sufficient.

2. Protein Timing & Distribution

This short-term study found no difference in muscle-building results whether protein was consumed evenly throughout the day or mostly in a single meal.

3. My Experience

Although the study showed no difference between plant and animal proteins, I’ve found in my practice that clients focused on body transformation often experience better strength and recovery with some animal protein. However, for long-term health, a plant-forward approach may offer greater benefits. Ultimately, I focus on each client’s unique goals and needs.
