HouseCall: BCAAs, Medical Medium, No Protein Diet, Nystagmus, Liquid Porridge, Cold Therapies
Thank you for joining us for our 2nd Cabral HouseCall of the weekend!
I’m looking forward to sharing with you some of our community’s questions that have come in over the past few weeks…
Let’s get started!
Kelsey: People always say they’re doing fasted cardio while drinking pre workout. That’s not considered fasting though is it? And do you recommend BCAAS for any of your clients?
LAL: Hi, Dr. Cabral:)I’m wondering about what your take on some of the Medical Medium information is.. I know you’ve said that he’s really smart and well-read and I’ve listened to your podcast about celery juice.. what about him saying we should be grazing throughout the day for our adrenals? I know you say we should switch to 3 meals per day.. why the difference? And also his adrenal snacks.. should always be potassium, sodium & glucose (for example dates, celery sticks and apples together as a snack).. that’s poor food combining isn’t it?What is your opinion on coconut aminos instead of soy sauce..?He doesn’t believe oxalates or lectins are a problem, or nightshades.. or he doesn’t believe in testing anything either.. but I’ve been listening to your podcasts and they make so much sense & I’m learning sooo much! His followers also consume a lot of fruit daily which I do too.. but it doesn’t fit into 3meals per day lifestyle, when is best to incorporate fruits and how? As monomeals, to avoid bloating? I’m so confused, I also don’t want to get a fructose intolerance.. please help :)Thank you again for all you do, you’re a lifesaver! Lots of love to you, your family, your amazing team & all the listeners who want to heal and/or help others
LAL: .. hi, me again.. ;)I’m sorry, I forgot to ask:Medical Medium also says not to eat protein or fats, at least not until dinner or avoid them all together.. I used to eat like that but now I at least add them in the afternoon or evening, but I’ve gained weight (fat) around the belly and started overeating a lot.. could you please explain more about that and what to do?I’m predominantly a Vata..Thank you again! Have an amazing day, everyone! 🙂
NIck:I have nystagmus..acquired last 5 years and suffer from celeberum ataxia. Can you recommend diet to assist and maybe what not to eat…or anything else
Marian: Hi Dr Cabral. Thank you so much for answering our questions. You always say how important it is to have liquid before lunch thus a smoothie for breakfast. However, you’re not against a little bit of porridge on the side in winter especially the vata body type. How come? Porridge is not liquid so I imagine it does take a while to digest? Can you please explain how porridge would be an exception to the rule “liquid before lunch”?
Alyssa: Hi Stephen,I love listening to your podcasts, so informative and trusted sources to gain amazing information about my health and wellness so I am equips today be my own health advocate!I am interested in hearing your take on cold showers, cold plunges and the overall benefits you feel come from these types of therapies. I have hypothyroidism TSH 2.24, T3 2.8, T4 .78, Cortisol level is low 2.67.I have given myself a 30 day cold shower protocol working my way up to 7-8 minutes as my goal and I have been feeling great but some feedback would indicate that the stress of the cold could increase stress on my mind/body which may not be great especially for someone with thyroid issues.MY take is that I am teaching my mind/body how to stay calm when stress is induced To build my tolerance to stress…so I am wondering what is your take on this especially when thyroid issues are a factor. Can you explain overall benefits of cold therapies and why does it seem to not have any great studies to back findings?! Is it all just a mental game? Sorry throwing a lot out there but I am so intrigued and want to k ow your thoughts. Be well and thank you for sharing your knowledge with us.
Thank you for tuning into this weekend’s Cabral HouseCalls and be sure to check back tomorrow for our Mindset & Motivation Monday show to get your week started off right!
