New Exercise Video: Rock and Roll Abs on the Ball!
I can’t wait to show you this brand new abs exercise I have for you today!
And like most of the exercises I create you need very little (if any) equipment
to complete them. Personally, I feel if you need fancy equipment to get through a
workout then there’s something wrong with your workout philosophy.
After all, the most important thing about exercising is getting your body to move –
especially in multiple planes of motion. Most of the time this requires very little
equipment, but that doesn’t mean the exercises are easy!
Just to show you how challenging they can be I filmed a video for you this week
demonstrating 3 versions of the infamous “Ball Pull-In Crunch.”
I like giving you a few different versions of the exercise so that no matter what level you
are at now you can always have a goal of moving to the next level. The nice thing
about that is by the time you are able to try the next version up of this exercise you will
know that your abs and core have become stronger.
This should give you a great sense of accomplishment!
Here’s what I like to call “Rock and Roll Abs” on the ball:
Level 1
Place both feet on the ball while holding yourself up in a push-up position. Only your
hands should be in contact with the ground.
Begin by pulling your hips high into the air and bending your knees as you pull your
legs into your abs and chest.
Crunch your abs tightly and then slowly straighten your legs back out bringing them
back to the starting position (without letting your hips sag). Repeat 12-20 times.
Level 2
Use the same technique as level 1 except for one major difference. In this version you
will keep your knees and legs straight the entire time and pull your hips up into the air
into a ball “pike.”
Level 3
This is the most challenging level in which you will attempt the same form as level 1, but
this time you only have ONE leg on the ball the whole set.

Most of my clients find that not only is this a great abs, obliques, and overall fantastic
core exercise, but they also feel their upper body muscles getting a workout as well.
Don’t be surprised if you feel the same way since you’re holding yourself up at the
top of a push-up position for the whole set!
