1. Omega-3 Study

The study looked at the relationship between Omega-3 & white matter in the brain and the connection this has to someone’s susceptibility to dementia or Alzheimer’s.

2. What Does the Research Show

The research showed that higher levels of Omega-3 were associated with a larger hippocampus and white matter in the brain. Those with higher levels of Omega-3 did not show as much shrinkage of the brain as those with lower levels of Omega-3.

3. How Can You Use This Information

You do not need mega-doses of Omega-3 to make an impact. In our practice, we use 2g per day. You can get this from eating 4-6oz of wild-caught salmon, trout, sardines, or mackerel 3-4 times per week or supplementing with a clean product like Daily Omega-3 Support that is higher in EPA than DHA.
