Like many people, I enjoy a cup of coffee on occasion…

We know that coffee (or tea) is a supplement that is high in antioxidants, which can provide us with certain health benefits.

But we have to be careful when enjoying caffeinated beverages and use them in such a way that it doesn’t put added stress on the nervous system and HPA-Axis.

Caffeine is a natural supplement that can be found in a variety of sources such as coffee, tea, soda, and chocolate.

2. Empty Stomach

Consuming caffeine on an empty stomach increases stress on the nervous system and puts you in a fight-or-flight state.

3. After a Meal

The best time to consume caffeine is after a meal, preferably one with protein and fiber. Doing so blunts the stress effect on the body and also aids in digestion.
