TT: Why is Sprinting the Most Overlooked Beneficial Form of Exercise

When most people think of exercise they think of walking, going for a jog, group fitness classes, lifting weights, or maybe HIIT training…

It’s interesting, but when it comes to the time you put into any form of exercise compared with the benefits you get there’s really only one form of fitness that comes out on top…

So on today’s #CabralConcept 2267 I’d like to share with you why I believe sprinting is the most overlooked beneficial form of exercise – enjoy the show and let me know what you thought in the comments!

Show Highlights & Big Takeaways

1. Sprint Intervals

Sprinting is a natural form of interval training since by its nature you can only expend up to about 90 seconds of effort before stopping, resting, and then going again.

2. Work: Rest Ratio

The longer your sprint lasts the more exponential exertion is required - Therefore, there should be a greater rest period the longer the sprint lasts.

3. Start Here

If you're looking for the best place to start, I suggest beginning with a 20-second sprint followed by 40-60 seconds of rest. Aim for 3-5 sprints total.
