Check out today’s questions:
Lorenzo: Hi Dr. C — We spoke briefly during the September 11th IHP live Q&A about Uterine Fibroids. I’ve been digging into whether progesterone-only birth control pills contribute to fibroid growth, but the research is all over the place—some say yes, some no, and some say it depends on if the person is taking Progesterone & Estrogen BC, as well as other individual factors. I’ve linked a few studies below and would love if you could do a deep dive on this to help demystify the topic. I always appreciate your unbiased take and how much your work has helped me and my clients! Thanks! Angela: Hi Dr. Cabral. I was wondering if you can do a show or comment on vagus nerve stimulation and what your thoughts are on it. I am current using one called Vagustim. I heard of another person using it and helped them with gut health. I have a very stressful job and I am trying to calm myself at night. The stress most likely has caused slow motility leading to SIBO. I think you mentioned you were going to do a podcast on this topic. Thank you.
Anonymous: Hi Dr. Cabral, I had a colonoscopy done recently. Everything was fine except that they found 1 innocuous polyp (now excised) and a dark colored colon. Due to the color, they asked me if I take stimulant laxatives, which I do not with regularity. Ive probably taken 2 bottles of Senna in my life, so I dont think that would be the cause. I rarely take stim. laxatives due to dependance risks. I do take mag07 every day, which is oxygenated mag oxide to help with bio-availability. I wanted to ask if you would know what else might cause this darkening? Are there any health issues that could be the cause? Im 40 and have been diagnosed with functional dyspepsia and mild gastritis from an endoscopy. Thanks
Jessica: Hi Dr. Cabral..I love my work as a hairstylist but I’m worried about my long-term exposure to chemicals. I don’t want to give up my career but I also don’t want to end up with chronic health issues from repeated exposure. What steps can I take on a regular basis to help reduce my risk and protect myself while continuing to work? Thank you so much!
Ryan: I am a 48 year old man , used to be a high end athlete and still like to work out 3x a week so have muscle still but cannot lean out and have lots of fat too. I am 6’1 320 lbs but don’t look overly fat. I am concerned for met healthy and organs with this heavy weight. I have Avery bad habit of waking up in middle of night and binge eating – thinking that’s my problem but I am half asleep when I do it and have no control, how can I fix this ? Also if you have any healthy daily routines I would to hear them. Thank you
