WW: How Birth Control Negatively Affects Your Body (& Mind)

There are many reasons someone may choose to take oral contraceptives…

Whether it be to prevent pregnancy, reduce PCOS symptoms, balance hormones, or a variety of other reasons.

It’s not my place to be telling you what you should and should not be doing, but as an Integrative Health Practitioner I feel it is important that we address the dangers of taking birth control and what to watch out for if you choose to use it.

So on today’s #CabralConcept 2357 I want to go over what your doctor won’t tell you about the dangers of oral contraceptives/birth control – Enjoy the show and let me know what you thought!

Show Highlights & Big Takeaways

1. Mind

Research shows that almost 1/2 of all women who go on the pill stop using it within the first year due to changes in mood. Anxiety, depression, and stress are some of the most common side effects of birth control.

2. Body

Birth control has a variety of side effects on the body including poor absorption of vitamins and minerals, poor detoxification, and altered functioning of the gallbladder.

3. Infertility

Long-term use of oral contraceptives inhibits the body's ability to properly regulate estrogen, progesterone, FSH, and luteinizing hormones. Women coming off of birth control often have a hard time returning to a regular menstrual cycle.
