1. Bacterial Overgrowth

For the very same reason fermented foods can be great, the bacteria containing them can also cause digestive upset for certain individuals especially those with pre-existing intestinal overgrowth.

2. Sulfur

Some forms of fermented foods can be quite high in sulfur and although that may be useful for Detoxification it can be problematic for those people that genetically do not process sulfur very well.

3. Allergies

If you are someone that doesn’t do well with food sensitivities that cause allergies, fermented foods may further increase your histamine levels leading to greater allergic reactions.
