Welcome back to our weekend Cabral HouseCall shows!

Check out today’s questions:
Annette: Hello. I was recently told I have Sjogren’s syndrome. I have low iron as well which is being treated by a hematologist. I was told I have to start, and have for one day so far, meds. Plaquenil. I really would rather not do that, or at least only 1 pill per day instead of 2 because the rear side effect is retana / eye issues. I have not found a good site to explain in detail the foods I should be eating, they just say root vegetables, etc. I have found a couple of receipes, but you know of more, of a food plan I would appreciate it.
Nicole: Hi There,Do you work with children, my son who is nearly 5 has major gut issues, SIBO I suspect from many antibiotics when he was a baby. He is getting fussier, and fussier and will barely eat anything. Im at a loss how to help him now. Do you have a program for kids that does not involve tablets.ThanksNicole
Jennifer: My father was just diagnosed with IBM-Inclusion Body myositis. His muscles are already beginning to atrophy, he has lost grip in his hands and cannot use utensils or open doors, he has trouble swallowing, and has begun falling. His doctor simply told him to exercise and that was the only course of treatment. I am petrified by the progression of this disease and the toll it is taking on my father who I love greatly. I would appreciate any direction you could give me to assist him. Thank you!
Genia: Hi Dr. Cabral. I’m a student of IHP and you are very much a part of my day with my IHP studies, videos of you teaching and podcasts. Thank you for being the master teacher that I highly respect and can relate to. You are a blessing to the world. I am so grateful to be your student. I had some health hiccups and doing my diligence with healing and feeling awesome. Because I have the brace gene and had a malignant cyst on my left ovary I am guided to screen always although I do not go for mammograms. I don’t want to express a gene with extra radiation. I do ultra sounds, thermographs and MRIs, and lots of holistic self care. Please explain your views on mammograms for breast screening. With gratitude and love, Genia
Daira: Hello Dr. Cabral,First and foremost, thank you for all that you do. Your podcast is my favorite and always my #1 listen at the beginning of the day. I am wondering how do you feel about the accuracy and importance of DEXA scans in terms of tracking body composition. I’m finding the lean mass fluctuations on a weekly basis, which I believe is primarily water weight. Correct me if I’m wrong. I’m trying to lose body fat (total 10lb) and while I’m eating healthy and working out 6 times a week I’m finding the body fat going up and lean mass going down. Should I stick with DEXA scans or really just pay attention on how I feel and look. Thanks!
Thank you for tuning into today’s Cabral HouseCall and be sure to check back tomorrow where we answer more of our community’s questions!
