HouseCall: Nasolabial Fold Filler, RA, Parathyroid Hormone, Children’s Gut Health, Olive Oil Lemon Drink, Dry Fast, Sleeplessness, Dream Like Vision
Thank you for joining us for our 2nd Cabral HouseCall of the weekend!
I’m looking forward to sharing with you some of our community’s questions that have come in over the past few weeks…
Let’s get started!
Heidi: Hi Dr. Cabral, Not sure if you have answered this question previously, but I was wondering if you have knowledge relating to dermal fillers and their harmfulness to the body. I had filler injections done to my nasolabial folds a few months back and am so pleased with the results. I am 25 years old and have very minimal wrinkles, however, my nasolabial folds are very deep, which seems to be genetic, as some of my other family members have the same disposition. I generally have a good self-body image, however, this particular detail has been causing me grief since a young age. Now I feel very relaxed and at ease about my appearance and would love to get them done regularly to continue to feel this way, however, I am concerned about the negative impact on my overall health. Would you definitely advise against dermal fillers, and if so, are there any more natural alternatives that you are aware of, or would you have any recommendations for where I could do further research on this subject? Many thanks
Denise: Hi, I love your podcasts and have learned so much. I think your great and have tried a number of protocols and supplements. I am at the point that I am having my mercury fillings removed properly and need detox help. I have RA and get flares often so I need to be careful on the detox and was wondering about using zeolites or another safe detox so I don’t get bad flares. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for all you do for us we really appreciate you. Sincerely Denise
Ales: Hello Dr.Cabral, The science is very clear that as long as your PTH (parathyroid hormone) is around or below 30pg/mL, the body isn’t deficient neither with calcium nor with vitamin D, even if 25-OHD is at let’s say only 30ng/mL, which is much lower than you suggest to keep vitamin D levels at. Why don’t you ever talk about PTH despite it being a crucial marker to look at when assessing vitamin D and calcium deficiency?
Bec: Hi There: I am interested in ordering a leaky gut test for my 3.5 year old boy. He was born via emergency c-section, at 2.5 years old had his tonsils & adenoids taken out as well as grommets put into both ears. This was due to oversize tonsils and adenoids as well as multiple ear infections and antibiotics. Since hitting 3.5 he has had chronic eczema in all the traditional places (wrists, middle of arm, back of legs and front of neck). I have taken him to the dermatologist who recommended pulse steroid cream treatment. Said that this is the only treatment plan, there is no proactive solution and this is normal for children to develop, this is not diet or allergy related. The visit to the dermatologist was day light robbery to say the least! I try and follow a healthy whole diet, he can be a picky eater. Minimize as many toxic substances as possible (although I could get better) he does however enjoy regular cow’s milk in the morning and before bed. I am trying to eliminate this but a bit afraid of the fights it may cause. He is overall very healthy & happy. Has not been sick or on antibiotics since his operation. Do you think starting with a leaky gut test would be the best way to start to understand what is going on and what remedy we can take on to improve his overall health and skin? Thank you so much for your help!
Sanne: Hi Doctor Cabral! I was wondering if you’ve ever heard of liver detox, involving drinking olive oil/lemon juice mixture for a couple of days. And if so, what you think about it? Thanks for all you do! Sanne
Ellie: Hi, I fast for Yom Kippur each year, which is a completely dry-fast. I am wondering what I can do in the day before (or several days leading up to it) to help my fast go smoothly. I often feel weak and shaky during the day. I just did your 7-day detox and felt these same symptoms on days 1 and 2, but much less severe due to all of the micronutrients. If you have any suggestions regarding your products (for example, should I double my DNS dose the day before Yom Kippur?) or other things I can do on my own (diet, exercise, electrolyte intake, etc) that would be great. Thank you!
Renee: I am on day two of the 21 day Detox and the first night I could not sleep. Prior to starting, I do not take caffeine or stimulants. Is there caffeine/stimulants in the proprietary blend of herbs as part of the AYU Detox or FM Detox capsules? I would still like to continue, what do you recommend for sleep?
Tayler: Hi, my name is Tayler. I am 19 years old. When I was 16 I was diagnosed with POTS. I suffer from anxiety, 2-3 headaches daily, blood pooling at my feet, and constant flare ups where I can feel my nerves. I also experience dream-like vision very often when driving or when I am up and moving, which no one is able to explain. I am extremely active. I go to the gym and get my heart rate up almost every day. I am able to exercise intensely to an extent without feeling like I’m experiencing POTS symptoms that interfere with my workout. In the past month, I’ve only been working out maybe twice where I pushed myself too hard to the point of needing to sit down because if I were to stand up, I’d fall over. I eat an 80% plant based diet and I am working toward 100%. I’m not sure what to do when it comes to getting rid of the headaches, dream-like vision, POTS, and anxiety and I know you can help me. It’s hard to tell if I have a bunch of separate problems or if this is something bigger. Thank you for your time.
Thank you for tuning into this weekend’s Cabral HouseCalls and be sure to check back tomorrow for our Mindset & Motivation Monday show to get your week started off right!
