Thank you for joining us for our 2nd Cabral HouseCall of the weekend!
I’m looking forward to sharing with you some of our community’s questions that have come in over the past few weeks…
Let’s get started!
Ginny: What are some good ways to fight high blood pressure. I am taking three different medications. It will spike to 225/160. This has been going on forcloseto10 years. It started when I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer which has spread to lymph nodes.
Katrina: Hi I’m really interested to do a detox for leaky gut as I’ve been tested for and I’ve not heal my leaky gut but really want to try your detox, I listen to your podcast and in the middle of your book but I live in New Zealand and you don’t ship here yet, do you know when you’ll been shipping to New Zealand? Thanks Katrina
Aurelie: Dear Dr. Cabral, I’m hoping you can comment on a problem Prevalent amongst females: cystitis or bladder infection. Once a year at most i find myself experiencing a painful episode of cystitis ( usually around summer holidays). I am conflicted about what to do: on one hand the pain is so excruciating that i beg my GP for a course of antibiotics. On the other hand by doing so, I wipe out my gut microbiome. How would you approach this situation?
Eliana: Hi, I suffer from extremely painful periods. My mom had endometriosis but I have been tested for it and do not have it. They could not give me many answers besides “get on birth control” which I am completely against. I treat my periods with herbs, exercise, homeopathy, etc and I constantly find something that helps for one or two cycles and then stops helping. The cramps are severe and in some cycles I end up dry heaving or have nausea, back pain, and cramps. I also feel weak/lightheaded when on my period. I am in search of all-natural remedies that will continue to help. Thanks so much!!
Ann: Hi Dr. Cabral, I love your show! I wanted to get your thoughts on a product called Partially Hydrolyzed Guar Gum by Sunfiber. I’ve read it can be added to liquids and used in baking to increase the fiber content of foods. Thanks so much!!
Kristen: Hi Dr. Cabral! I’ve been eating a whole foods plant-based diet for about a year and since cutting out meat and eggs (I’ve always avoided dairy) I’ve only had two periods. I’ve sought advice from two different naturopaths and they both told me that I should eat meat again to get my period back. I had blood work done as well as an ultrasound. I don’t have PCOS and my blood sugar is normal. My thyroid levels are normal. My naturopath did diagnose me with “leaky gut” which I’m trying to heal, and low progesterone. Is it possible that I’m just not absorbing nutrients properly? Is the low progesterone due to lack of protein? Thank you so much for taking the time to answer my question.
Sandy: Good evening! Can you please tell me if you can recommend any of your supplements to help with hot flashes? These started about four months ago. I have about 10 a day. The kind where you break out in a sweat from head to toe. I only sleep about 4 hours a night. When I did the 7-day detox they were not as intense the first two days. I did a search of the podcasts but 0 results came up regarding hot flashes. I made an appointment to talk to my GYN but cannot be seen until August 20th. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. God Bless you all for the information you provide us with. Thank you, Sandy
