HouseCall: Prescription Alternative, Nails & Inflammation, Increasing Vegetables, Disordered Eating & Detox, Ureaplasma
Welcome back to our weekend Cabral HouseCall shows!
This is where we answer our community’s wellness, weight loss, and anti-aging questions to help people get back on track!
Check out today’s questions:
Naran: Hi. First of all, you have been inspiring and motivating to me. My health has never been in good shape. This question is actually for my mom. She is 76 years old and been going through high blood pressure, high cholesterol and asthma. She is taking so many medications prescribed by her doctor and her health is just one side effect after another. Is there any alternative to taking her medication? Any supplements that will help? And if there are supplements that will help, can she discontinue her prescription?
Carl: Hi Dr Cabral, I’ve noticed recently that I’m losing the connective tissue or calking around my fingernails. The skin is brittle and rubs off. This has caused inflammation and soreness, making every task difficult. I had to have the nail on my middle finger removed because the knuckle was inflamed which made the nail grow awkwardly. Other fingers look like they are following suit. Any help would be appreciated.
Gianna: Hi there, I have 2 questions: 1) How do you recommend increasing produce intake with a client who is adamant that they do not like vegetables and seem unwilling to try to incorporate more. I do not want them to have to depend on spending a lot of money on powders and supplements. 2) I was wondering if you recommend any of the detox/cleanse/elimination diet regimen for a client with bloating and digestive issues (and potential food sensitivities) if they are recovering from an eating disorder and struggling to increase caloric intake. Thank you! Gianna
Jordyn: Hi there, I have had a long history of chronic yeast infections and BV cycle. I recently tested positive for Ureaplasma and prescribed 21 days of doxycycline. From what I’ve read this is a tough bacteria to get rid of due to no cell wall. I havnt seen any podcasts on Ureaplasma and I will probably be done the course of antibiotics once you get to this question but any suggestions if a relapse is to occur, I hate having to take antibiotics.
