HouseCall: Bladder Control, Decreased Bile, PCOS & Weight Gain, Protein Digestion, Thin Stools, NP Thyroid Pros & Cons
Thank you for joining us for our 2nd Cabral HouseCall of the weekend!
I’m looking forward to sharing with you some of our community’s questions that have come in over the past few weeks…
Let’s get started!
Tina: What are your thoughts on surgical mesh for bladder control? and is there an healthy alternative ? Ao curious what the root cause is for the sudden urination? Thank you so much!!!!
Jenna: I was dealing with decreased bile production, or a blockage of the bile ducts I’m not really sure, and wasn’t feeling well for about a week. It was obvious that my body was not digesting fats due to the low bile as I had pale or yellow colored stool. During this time although I didn’t feel great, my bloating which I have been trying to solve the mystery of for the last 15 years just magically disappeared. It was completely gone. I didn’t change my diet at all. To me, this experience showed me that the root cause of my bloating is a digestive process malfunction rather than SIBO, Candida, etc. Could it be that the act of breaking down fats in my system is what causes the bloating? And when i did not have the bile to properly digest the fats, this meant the bloating did not occur? The reason I ask is because I fixed the bile issue and the bloating is back!
Amanda: Hi Dr Cabral! I am a 29 year old female who has been diagnosed with PCOS since the age of 18. Initially doctors would always tell me the same thing, lose weight and get on birth control. I’ve the past 11 years my body has always been in a constant battle with weight gain and loss. I have symptoms which include stubborn facial hair, belly fat, and darker pigmentation under my arms etc. In 2019 I went dairy and gluten free which has helped tremendously with my inflammation however on special occasions I have some and pay for it as my menstrual cycle is delayed. I have very low sex drive if nothing at all and I want that to change for myself and my partner. I have already done a 21 day Detox. Am doing fatlossity currently. Just wanted some advice on how to help with this facial hair, darker skin and low sex drive. ( I take t quench and estrogen balance and haven’t noticed a difference) Doctor has taken blood and I do not have diabetes or hashimotos yet. Any advice is appreciated and thank you for all that you do!
Karen: Can’t thank you enough for always being a go-to resource for accurate information. It is so appreciated! I am trying to increase my daily protein intake by combining bone broth and a hydrolyzed whey powder into my daily smoothie. Would taking a proteolytic enzyme help me to better digest these proteins or is the fact that they are being ingested in a liquid form already make their proteins more available for absorption? I don’t want to waste money on proteolytic enzymes if they aren’t necessary. Any other recommendations for increasing protein absorption?
Michael: Hi Dr. Cabral I have tested positive for h pylori and mold toxicity. I noticed a few months ago that I’m not forming stools normally. The stools are short and thin. What could cause this? What supplements could someone take to help with this?
Lina: What is your thoughts on taking NP thyroid long-term? I have listened to your podcasts on balancing thyroid naturally for my low thyroid but have been using NP thyroid for a few years and has been “working”. Don’t know if it could be damaging to my health, though. Any advice would be much appreciated!
