2917: Myth Busting: Bone Broth Fasting

WW: Myth Busting: Bone Broth Fasting

Recently, there has been a lot of discussion about bone broth fasting…

However, despite its beneficial qualities, consuming bone broth throughout the day (although it’s liquid) will break your fast.

So on today’s show, I want to share with you a very specific characteristic about bone broth that eliminates it from being a tool used in fasting and what you can do instead.

Join me on today’s #CabralConcept 2917 where I want to go over the bone broth fast, what it is, and dispel the myths surrounding it. Enjoy the show and feel free to share your thoughts!

Show Highlights & Big Takeaways:

1. What Are The Benefits of Bone Broth

Bone broth is rich in collagen, amino acids, and minerals, which help promote skin elasticity, joint health, and gut health.

2. Can You Use Bone Broth For Fasting

While bone broth has many health benefits, it can’t be used for fasting. A true fast consists of getting the body into a state of autophagy, which facilitates cellular cleanup. To achieve this, you must refrain from using products that contain amino acids and animal-based proteins.

3. Why Bone Broth Doesn’t Work

Bone broth contains between 7-10g of protein per cup. On a bone broth fast, you will consume approximately 1-1.5 cups of bone broth every 3 hours, equating to about 50-75g of protein. Consuming animal-based proteins and amino acids increases mTOR which will take you out of a fasted state.
