Initiate the first 7 days with water fasting. After an extended water fast, it’s crucial to ease back into eating with gentle options like soups, smoothies, or juices instead of a large meal, which could potentially harm the digestive system. Personally, I broke my fast with juices over the next 2.5 days and then transitioned to a whole-food fasting-mimicking diet, comprising 3 cups of vegetables with 1 tablespoon of olive oil three times a day.

2. Monitor Your Health

It is advisable for individuals undertaking a water fast to have doctor supervision rather than attempting it independently. I personally felt confident in monitoring my own health using various tools, including a CGM to track blood sugar levels consistently, keto strips to monitor ketosis, urine strips, blood pressure measurements, and regular weight checks on a scale.

3. Why I Undertook the Water Fast

Fasting offers significant health benefits, and there are various fasting methods to consider before starting a water fast. However, as a practitioner, I believe it’s crucial for me to comprehend, empathize, and fully understand the protocols that I might recommend to others.
