A typical soda may contain 100-200mg of caffeine, equivalent to a full day’s intake for many. Within 30-40 minutes of consumption, your body absorbs and processes the caffeine, triggering the “fight or flight” response with increased production of norepinephrine and cortisol.

3. Soda’s Impact

Cortisol breaks down stored glycogen, but soda’s sugar content raises blood sugar levels, leading to increased stress hormones and a dopamine surge, resulting in a cycle of fatigue, cravings, and altered neurotransmitter activity. This highlights the importance of moderation, especially for children and individuals with health concerns.
