It’s hard to know who to trust and what information is safe these days…

Many online gurus want to tell you exactly what to do, or what they did to achieve certain results and are all in on believing their way is the ONLY way for everyone…

But we need to be cautious with these diet gurus and fads in order to fully understand what they are and the potentially detrimental effects they can have in the long run…

1. Expert

An expert uses data, research, and multiple sources to back up their claims. An expert follows the data that is supported by research, asks questions, and there is often very little difference of opinions among experts.

2. Guru

A Guru has some or no research at all and then decides that their one way of thinking is the be-all end-all when it comes to health, diet, and wellness. They often do not understand the deeper levels of science behind their claims.

3. Fad Diets

Before starting any new diet plan make sure you fully understand the reason why you are doing it and the effects it will have on your body. I fully believe that a diet backed by research that provides the body with foundational nutrition is the healthiest bet in the long run.
