To effectively lower you cholesterol you must first remember that high
cholesterol, blood pressure, arthritis, and a host of other ailments are a
product of high levels of inflammation within your body.
Eliminate Problem Foods
Your nutrition is the single greatest thing you can work on to get your
cholesterol back under control. This means eliminating processed foods
which include many wheat and grain products. Although these foods have
fiber, which is good to help lower cholesterol, many are also very
inflammatory. One way to work some into your diet in a healthy way would
be to try having whole grain oatmeal for breakfast and then steering clear of
them for the rest of the day.
Add in Fiber
Everyone’s goal should be to reach 35+ grams of fiber per day and if you
have high cholesterol, this should certainly be an even higher priority for
you. Make sure you are including lots vegetables and specific fruits, like
berries, throughout the day. You’ll also want to have at least one handful of
almonds or walnuts as a snack each day.
The Outcome
Making these types of changes to your diet can have a huge impact on your
cholesterol levels. I have seen some of my client’s cholesterol levels literally
go from 300+ to under 200 with this type of nutritional plan.
Good luck and start making these changes tomorrow – Your health can’t wait
another day!
