What’s in my Supplement Cabinet?

I often get asked “what are the latest and greatest supplements on the market.”

I always answer with… I wouldn’t use any product that hasn’t been used and tested
for at least 5 years to validate its safety and effectiveness.

Being a Personal Trainer I keep unconventional work hours and I am always on the
go. I rely on a staple of the best supplements out there to keep my energy levels
high and stable throughout the day.

Here is what I personally use on a daily basis:

Whey Protein Isolate
Whey Protein Isolate helps to maintain a lean, healthy physique and is easy on the
digestive system since it contains no lactose or other cheap fillers.

Juice Plus+
I get the whole food benefits of 17 fruits and vegetables in 4 small capsules each
day. Imagine eating 17 fruits and vegetables a day… how much healthier do you
think you would be? The benefits include lowering cholesterol, blood pressure,
reducing risk for cancer, etc.

Multi-Vitamin/Mineral
I take a multi-vitamin as a fail-safe. If my nutrition is sub-par for the day, my multi will
make up it.

Omega-3 (Fish Oil)
EPA & DHA fish oils help to prevent cardiovascular disease, lower cholesterol, and
maintain a healthy heart.

When needed:

B-50 Complex
I use this full spectrum B-vitamin when I am getting run-down and need to give my
energy levels a boost.

Vitamin C
I take this product in conjunction with my B-50 Complex to give my immune system a
little lift.

L-Glutamine Powder
This is another great product for boosting your immune system and fighting the
negative effects of cortisol that can harm your body and leave you feeling run-down.
L-Glutamine is the most abundant amino acid in your body, but can be depleted by
over training, lack of sleep, or from too much stress.

I use this zinc and magnesium based supplement to help me get into a deep sleep
and help me recuperate from my workouts and training sessions where I stand on my
feet for the majority of the day.

In addition to any supplements that I take to stay healthy I exercise at least 4-
5x/week, and try to eat 6 meals a day that are high in protein and fiber.
