Each one of the tips goes through the 3 critical factors that separate those who
will lose a couple of quick pounds for 2009 versus those who permanently burn
the fat and get in the best shape and health of their life over the next year.
Here’s the breakdown of the 3 steps you must take to achieve long-lasting
results:
1. Nutrition
Your nutrition or diet plan can’t sacrifice long term health for short term weight
loss. You also must choose a plan that does not break down your metabolism at
the expense of losing weight. This will only cause you to gain more weight in the
future and make it harder for it to come off. Instead, look to balance out your
nutrition with healthier, less processed foods and cleaner whole food choices.
2. Exercise
Most people just hop on a cardio machine and go. I’m still not sure why, since
you’re only burning calories and once you stop so does the calorie burning
effect… Instead, choose to build up your metabolic rate this year with resistance
training and more interval work. It’s shorter and will get you far better results.
Also, be sure to still include long walks and other activities you enjoy in your
program to prevent burn out of boredom.
3. Lifestyle
It’s not enough to start a New Year’s weight loss program. You need to know
why you’re doing it and figure out a way to make permanent change. Nothing
outrageous, but it’s time to start cleaning up your poor decisions which are
leading to weight gain, low energy, and poorer health. Start small, but think big
and you’ll be well on your way to the body you want and the health you need.
