McDonald’s Warns Against Eating Its Own Food!

January 24, 2014 by Stephen Cabral

Screen Shot 2014-01-24 at 2.50.18 PMI just saw this report last week and I knew I had to share it with you!

You simply can’t make this stuff up…

Here is the whole truth as documented by Fox 25 News and other media outlets that broke the story:

McDonald’s doesn’t think its employees should eat the food they serve.

The fast food giant has advised employees to avoid meals with burgers and fries and to eat healthier options like salad and sandwiches.

“While convenient and economical for a busy lifestyle, fast foods are typically high in calories, fat, saturated fat, sugar, and salt and may put people at risk for becoming overweight,” one post read.

Another post showed a meal of a burger, fries and soda – McDonald’s staples – and labeled it as an “unhealthy choice.”

“Eat at places that offer a variety of salads, soups and vegetables to maintain your best health,” the site advised. “Although not impossible it is more of a challenge to eat healthy when going to a fast food place. In general, avoiding items that are deep fried are your best bet.”

The fast food posts were not the first time McDonalds has been questioned about the content on the site.

Despite featuring a vast array of deep fried delicacies, the Golden Arches reminds employees that “avoiding items that are deep fried are your best bet.”

McDonald’s Own Advice

The sensible advice also tells McWorkers to “limit the extras such as cheese, bacon and mayonnaise.” Tasty add-ons that are staples of many menu items they serve on a daily basis.

A hamburger, fries and soda are warned against, because “eating a diet high in fat puts people at risk for becoming overweight.”

Many locations offer steep food discounts and short breaks to employees, virtually forcing them to eat the unhealthy food, often forcing the hand of workers without the time or means to eat elsewhere.

For many of us this comes as NO surprise…

Eating fried foods, a pound of hormone-filled red meat, and high sugar sodas are not only a recipe to gain weight fast, but also to shorten your lifespan.

Health practitioners such as myself have been recommending against this for year’s, but never did we think we’d actually hear it directly from the horse’s mouth!

Here’s to eating more green things, less fried foods, and as close to nature as we can get…
